AN INTERVIEW WITH THE DESIGNERS | BACKSTAGE

We've got the low down on Backstage and their latest Campaign with NYC based Aussie Fashion Blogger Nadia Fairfax.

We recently welcomed Australian Made Label Backstage to Glue Store so we thought it was only fitting to sit down with them and chat about their latest Campaign The Blue Print, what it was like collaborating with Nadia Fairfax and find out who their muse was for their latest 70's inspired collection.

Names:Vicki and Tony

Tell us a bit about Backstage: Backstage is an Australian label inspired by our love of film, music and art. Backstage has an enigmatic aesthetic in its collections with sleek lines, bold prints, textured fabrics and elegant shapes with an edginess and sensuality that captures a fresh spirit found behind the scene or centre stage. Backstage is made in Australia and produced ethically.

Who is the Backstage Girl: The Backstage girl is a free spirit - she's independent, she's energetic & her lifestyle mirrors what she wears. She doesn't take herself too seriously

What inspired your latest Campaign The Blue Print: The Blueprint Campaign was mainly inspired by the 70s, in particular Studio 54. We fell in love again with Bianca Jagger! She's definitely a Backstage woman. We wanted to have a fresh modern take on the bohemian 70s trend though - a little edgier and cooler - faster!

Who has been your favourite It Girls spotted in Backstage recently: We love seeing aussie girls in our clothes! Tash Oakley, Nadia Fairfax and Brooke Addamo (front singer of Flight Facilities) have been some very exciting recent highlights.

Do you have a Muse for the Brand that you can take inspiration fromcontinually or anything in particular that inspired your latest collection:We take inspiration from all parts of our lives - we are heavily inspired by music, film and art and are constantly looking for new opportunities to collaborate with local artists and musicians. We find a lot of inspiration in the powerful women around us..our customers inspire us!

You've recently collaborated with Nadia Fairfax which is very exciting! Tell us a little about that:Our latest collab with Nadia Fairfax was one of our favourite shoots yet. She shot the collection in NYC for us - she styled and directed the shoot and had full creative control. We wanted the clothes to have a 'Nadia' feel. She definitely embodies the energy and spirit we felt the blueprint collection had. Nothing she does feels too contrived or styled and that's exactly what we wanted - a sophisticated approach to relaxed bohemian.

What are your current must-have items from the latest range:The Alexandra Top is a must have for summer - perfect for the weekend, or dressed up for evening. The Natalie Dress is the perfect LBD. It's that piece in your wardrobe you can put on and it works every time!

If Backstage was a destination where would it be:At the moment it would be NYC. Energetic, fast & FUN.

If Backstage was a food what would it be:Il Capitano Pizza from Vacanza!

If Backstage was a song what would it be:Flight Facilities - Down to Earth
